Film Projects

Having started filmmaking at the age of 11, German self-taught filmmaker Julian Heuschneider has created numerous short films across the genres of horror, drama, and comedy. His highly visual style — ranging from the dark and macabre of Lost in the Shadows, to the quirky energy of Typing Yellow Dreams, and the dramatic core of The Veil Between — has already earned him multiple awards and government-issued grants.

With a distinctly hands-on approach, Heuschneider played a multifaceted role in the making of these films, working not only as writer, director, editor, and producer, but also often handling cinematography, special effects, visual effects, production design, and even acting. Now experimenting with animation while developing his first feature film, he continues to shape his unique style and career.

Drawings

As a means of immediate self-expression and a way to sharpen observation, drawing has always been a lifelong passion for Julian Heuschneider. For him, it represents the most direct way an artist can communicate feelings and ideas. This fascination naturally informs his highly visual storytelling. While exploring diverse styles, Heuschneider continues to expand his visual vocabulary, especially toward dark and imaginative subjects — leading him into new mediums such as animation.

Photos

Julian’s passion for creating imagery began in his early school years with his first camera. Since then, he has captured a wide range of subjects — from landscapes and macros to pets, products, events, and portraits. Through professional photo and video editing, he transforms each project into compelling, high-quality visuals. As a freelancer, Julian brings creative expertise and professional experience to both personal and commercial projects.
